The MP for Berekum East Constituency, Hon Dr Kwabena Twum Nuamah on Friday13th November 2020, paid a courtesy call on Berekumanhene, Daasebre Dr Amankona Diawuo ll at his palace. He went there with the SHANXI SIJIAN Group of Company CEO, Mr Hans, to inform Daasebre on the resumption of the construction of some selected roads in Berekum, including Mpatasie road, Kyribaa Road, Low price Road, Kyiriba Road, Berlin Area to Senase, Sofo Kyere totalling 14 kilometres. The project, however, is in two phases, thus work will begin immediately on Sofo Kyere and Kyiribaa roads and the others which make up phase one.
In February this year, Dr Nuama presented the company to Daasebre to commence construction of the Berekum inner roads, but was not able to commence due the Covid 19 pandemic restrictions. Dr Kwabena Twum Nuamah noted that the company is set to commence work on Monday 16th November 2020.
The roads to be constructed will be bitumen, including the construction of gutters along the sides of the roads. He emphasized that this construction is different from the SinoHydro road construction which the Vice President, Dr Alhaji Mamudu Bawumia cut sod some months ago. All these projects are coming to put a facelift of Berekum township roads, he added.
He finally asked Nananom for their support and blessing to make all these projects a reality.
The President of Berekum traditional council, Daasebre Dr Amankona Diawuo ll used the opportunity to thank the president, Nana Addo Dankwaa Akuffo Addo and the MP for Berekum East Constituency, Hon Dr Kwabena Twum Nuamah for the work done for the development of Berekum. Daasebre further praised Dr Kwabena Twum Nuamah for his love for Berekum more so after he lost the NPP Constituency primaries, but still working for Berekum East Constituency's progress without hesitation. Daasebre urged that copies of documents on the construction be shared with the traditional council to help in monitoring progress of work.
The Engineer of the China SHANXI SIJIAN GROUP OF COMPANY, Mr Ekow Odum promised the president of Berekum traditional council, Daasebre Dr Amankona Diawuo ll that they will work diligently to provide high quality work in 12 months.
