The incumbent president, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama has won the 2012 Ghana presidential election, for a four year term. He acquired 5,574,761 making 50.70% of total valid votes cast. He will be sworn in as the president of the republic in January 7, 2013 to begin his four year term.
