Berekum Chelsea suffered their first home defeat against Inter Allies in a horrific 1-3 at the Golden City Park in their matchday 10 fixture this season.
The Blue suffered a similar scoreline defeat at Elmina in their matchday 9 fixture last week 9th of February 2020 against Elmina Sharks.
Ben Boateng netted a hat-trick for Elmina Sharks with the first goal 5 minutes into the start of the game. Kofi Owusu of Chelsea equalized in the 15th minute, but the Blues couldn’t hold on but concede in the 58th and 66th minutes.
Coming home after the defeat at Elmina, the Blues were poised in making their fans excited again but that couldn’t see the day of light on Saturday 15 of February 2020 at the Golden City park as they suffered a humiliating defeat against Inter Allies.
Adebayor put the visitors ahead in 32nd minute through a spot-kick which went through the legs of the goalkeeper, Osei Bonsu. Samuel Armah doubled the scoreline for Inter Allies 3 minutes into the second half. The Blues brought on experience Jordan Opoku to help hold the broken midfield. This yielded some results through an Augustine Henneh strike in the 63rd minute making it 2-1, thus raising the spirit of the team and the fans. But top-form and goal-scorer lead, Victorien Adebayor stretched the margin in a spectacular top corner placer in the 83rd minute shattering the hopes of the fans making it 3 goals to 1.
The Blues are at the 5th position with 17 points just a point difference from the league leaders, Ashanti Gold.
Berekum Chelsea will be playing against Accra Great Olympics in Accra on Thursday, 20th of February 2020.
