Berekum Chelsea failed to shrug off Bechem United as they could only pick a 1-1 draw at home that took them to the top of Glo Premier League on Saturday.
The champions had to come from behind to earn a point at the Golden City Park after falling behind in the 15th minute when Peter Essien put Bechem in front.
Chelsea go top for the first time this season and their lead could be temporal with the bulk of the matches on match-day-10 to be played on Sunday.
A raft of changes by Hans Van der Plyum saw the Dutchman withdraw Samuel Kyere, Gladson Awako and Mohammed Musa as he pushed to improve his side's play.
On came Eric Agyemang, Yaw Alexander and Ibrahim Issakah.
The first substitute for Chelsea, Agyemang got the equaliser to secure his side a share of the spoils.
