It’s been about two years since FC Berekum won an away game. But the odds changed today when they brilliantly beat the porcupine warriors, Kumasi Asante Kotoko in a spectacular 3-0 win.
Two goals from Kofi Owusu and another from Asiwome Fumador were enough to nail Kotoko, the former league champions at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Kumasi, on Sunday 19th of July, 2015 in the First Capital Plus Ghana Premier league match day 22 fixture.
Kofi Owusu, formal King Faisal player, got the lead for the Berekum side in the 30th minute of the game. He added the second goal in the 61st minute, making it his 10th premier league goal for the season; this brought Berekum FC into a frim lead and better control of the game.
Asiwome Fumador sealed the game in the 86th minute, keeping the Berekum side 2nd on the table with only 4 points away from the league leaders, AshGold who lost to Heart of Lions in Kpando today.
FC Berekum is scheduled to meet Liberty Professionals at the Berekum Golden City Park on Wednesday 22nd of July, 2015 for their match day 23 fixture.
