The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Berekum, Hon Opoku Yiadom Boakye, on behalf of the assembly today, 7th July, 2014, presented 8 welding machines and 2 auto-mechanic tools sets to some beneficiaries from the Berekum garages association.
As part of interventions to create jobs for the people of Berekum as promised by the MCE in his acceptance speech in October last year to promote commercial initiatives—the Berekum municipal assembly sponsored ten apprentices in a skill acquisition program in welding and auto-mechanics, of which they have completed successfully.The presentation was part of a package to help the beneficiaries start their own businesses based on the skills they have acquired.
Master Ali, chairman of the Garages Association of Berekum thanked the MCE on behalf of the association and the beneficiaries for the kind gesture extended to them and promised to make the skills and the equipment beneficial to a lot more people.
