Berekum-Mpatapo Road to be Rehabilitated

As part of plans to maintain Berekum municipal roads, the road stretching from the traffic light (old small roundabout) to Mpatapo has been earmarked for rehabilitation due to its poor deployable state and the danger posed by the culvert which is a few meters away from the refuse dump.

Work is scheduled to commence on Friday 11th of July, 2014 and complete on 30th August, 2014. The road will thus be blocked from on Friday and re-open for traffic on the 30th of August. People using it will be diverted to use the Seikwa Road, but could use the connection between Zaabo-Zongo and the Mpatapo road or go through Kutre No. 2.

The rehabilitation work for that road is originally designed to start from the Ghana Commercial Bank area through to the traffic light to Mpatapo, but the beginning phase will start from the traffic light to the washing bay on the Mpatapo road, about 50 meters form the Pentecost church.

This was made known to the public by the municipal engineer, Mr. Dickson Aryee. He also hinted that, talks are ongoing with the contractor in charge of the Berekum-Seikwa road who has already commenced works from Seikwa, but have stopped work for some time now, to come start from Berekum when he resumes work to help ease inconveniences caused to the people in that environ.
