The assembly member for Koraso, Hon Clement Amofa-Boakye in partnership with Unite for Sight (USA) and Charity Eye Centre (Kumasi) held a free eye screening exercise in Koraso. Over 200 people benefitted from this exercise. Eleven beneficiaries got free eye surgery after being diagnosed of cataract and other ailments.
A similar exercise went on in other communities in Berekum including Kato, on the 16th of August and Jamdede on the 17th of August this year.
The project is aimed at preventing blindness in local communities by diagnosing and curing eye ailments and education on ways of preventing these ailments.
