A philanthropist who is a native of Berekum Senase and a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church ( SDA ), Weija in the Greater Accra, Region, Elder Amass Anane Amankona and his wife have built a modern KVIP toilet facility at Senase New Nsanka. The facility consists of twelve male sections and 12 female sections with an additional shower facility each for males and females.
Speaking to Elder Amass Anane Amankona, he said, he desires to help develop Berekum and its surroundings. “New Nsanka has had an over thirty years toilet facility which was built by the assembly but was unfit for the community, thus the need for a new, modern and improved one”, he added.
He also disclosed to Berekumcity.com that, he has plans of building three new toilet facilities similar to the one commissioned at various sanitation sites in Senase
He urged indigenes of Senase to do their part to support the development of the community
The Senase Hene who is also the Krontihene of Berekum traditional council, Nana Asomah Agyemang Sabi II, thanked Elder Amass Anane Amankona for the facility at Senase New Nsanka and believes it will go a long way in improving the sanitation situation in the community. He further expressed that he hopes all the sanitation sites in Senase will be rehabilitated to build modern KVIPs.
Nana used the opportunity to call on natives, individuals, philanthropists to come to the aid of the community to help accomplish his sanitation drive.
Nana added that Senase has a soap resources center that produces locally manufactured detergents, which is helping the youth. He further appealed that the old gari factory needs to be revamped which he believes when revamped, Senase will be a leading producer of Gari and soap production.
