Work has commenced on the construction of a football pitch for the people of Mpatasie, Berekum.
A grader was seen on Thursday 8th October 2020, clearing the land for the football pitch promised by the parliamentary candidate for Berekum East Constituency in the Bono Region, Elder Simon Ampabeng Kyeremeh. He pointed out that the people of Mpatasie needed him to help them build a pitch which has been on the drawing board for well over twenty years, during his door-to-door campaign.
Speaking to BerekumCity.com, he noted that the work is scheduled to last for three months, 8th October to 8th January 2021 for a budgeted amount of two hundred thousand cedis. The facility will be a standard pitch with other recreational resources which will also be served as grounds for other social activities at Berekum -Mpatasie.
Mpatasie Krontihene, Nana Effah Asomah Kyere thanked Elder Simon Ampabeng Kyeremeh for responding to them in such a short time and believes the facility will go a long way to support the upcoming footballers in his community and Berekum. He prayed Hon Elder Simon Ampabeng Kyeremeh dreams of becoming MP becomes a reality.
The youth expressed their appreciation to Elder Simon Ampabeng Kyeremeh for his assistance as this will help unearth numerous talents among the youth in Mpatasie
