The MP for Berekum East Constituency of the Bono Region, Dr Kwabena Twum Nuamah on Wednesday 22 July 2020 introduced the Contractor to rehabilitate 20Km of roads in Berekum to the Omanhene, Daasebre Dr Amankona Diawuo II in his palace.
Dr Kwabena Twum Nuamah reiterated that the President Nana Addo Dankwaa Akuffo Addo has said 2020 is a year of roads and thus Berekum East Constituency won't be left out. On this, Dr Kwabena Twum Nuamah told the Traditional council that Berekum East Constituency has won twenty kilometres of asphalt roads construction which will commence soon.
Dr Kwabena Twum Nuamah told Nananom that, the contract was awarded to JOSHOB construction Ltd who constructed Dormaa Municipal town roads.
He also outlines areas the Asphalt road will cover; it includes the stretch from the roundabout to BATTCU, Mpatasie road, Mpatapo road to Cemetery, Cemetery to Brenyekwaa link road, Mpatapo link road to Presec, Zongo one way, Tankase link, Berekum scotch road, the Palace Link, Rawlings park market link, Damoah hotel link, Holy family road, Holy family Hospital inner roads, Berekum College of Education inner roads, Berekum Senior High school, Brenyekwaa to Namasua roads.
He also disclosed that this contract is different from the Synohydro project which will come later.
The Director of JOSHOB, Mr Wereko Brown told Nananom that all his machinery for the project is scheduled to get to Berekum over the weekend. He assured Nananom that he will collaborate with the urban roads Engineer to start the work in the shortest possible time. He promised his outfit will deliver a great job for the people of Berekum.
Omanhene Daasebre Dr Amankona Diawuo ll used the opportunity to thank the President, Nana Addo Dankwaa Akuffo, the Bono Regional Minister, Hon Evelyn Ama Kumi Richardson and the MP for Berekum East Constituency, Dr Kwabena Twum Nuamah for providing this starter for Berekum roads had been a headache.
He further expressed his appreciation to the President for the response after the Traditional council and the Berekumman Citizens Association Executives visited him recently at his office in Accra to discuss Berekum development issues.
Daasebre assured the contractor the traditional council will do all that they can to see the commencement and facilitate his work.
He finally advised him (Contractor) to do good work for Berekuman.
