The Municipal Chief Executive for Berekum East, Hon Kofi Adjei has commissioned the COVID 19 pandemic water projects which were commenced in May this year at various locations as part of reliefs under the Local government and Rural development ministry against the spread of the disease.
The commissioning was done on Thursday 30th July 2020 at the Berekum central Market and the boreholes officially handed over to the various communities and areas including Berekum Main station, Thursday market, Perase market, Akrofro, Ayinasu and Biadan markets
Hon Kofi Adjei used the opportunity to reiterate the need to adhere to the COVID 19 protocols and thus caution that anyone who violates them will be dealt with accordingly.
The Traders at the market seized the opportunity to show appreciation to the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo, MCE Hon Kofi Adjei and the assembly members for providing the facility to enable them to get access to potable water for handwashing and activities. They pledge to use the water judiciously.
