After a recess (during the election period) of the panel sitting on the Berekum chiftaincy dispute, they sat on the case on the 16th of January 2013. The lawyer for the petitioners cross examined one of the witnesses to the respondents, Nana Agyeman Gyau, the Akrofro Hene of Berekum. About three hours of cross examination, the Chairman of the panel Professor Agyewodin Adu Gyamfi Ampem II, Omanhene of Achirensua adjourned sitting to the 19th of February 2013 to continue with proceedings.
Members of Berekum For Progress who have being following the case closely had some of it's leading members there, including Clement Amofa Boakye, Vice Chairman of the movement.
Both parties had hinted that they would go by what ever decision the house gives.
The youth and other stakeholders of Berekum are watching closely and hope both parties live by their word when the verdict comes.
