The Member of Parliament for Sunyani West stands resolute in his dedication to enhancing education within his cherished constituency. In a bid to inspire and empower, he has orchestrated an educational journey for both learners and educators alike.
A cohort comprising 25 exemplary pupils from Kwatire MA Basic School, victors of a spirited marching ceremony held on the memorable 6th of March 2024, alongside six esteemed teachers and a distinguished education officer, were whisked away on Passion Air's wings from Sunyani to Accra for a transformative five-day tour.
Their odyssey commenced on Tuesday, the 19th of March 2024, with illuminating stops at the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum and the tranquil shores of La Beach Resort. This was followed by a captivating exploration on Wednesday, the 20th of March 2024, delving into the corridors of power at Parliament House, engaging with ministries, traversing the bustling landscape of Tema Port, and immersing themselves in the scholarly ambiance of Achimota School and the University of Ghana campus.
Thursday, the 21st of March, they scheduled to be beckoned with adventures to the majestic Akosombo and the rugged allure of Shai Hills, culminating in a stirring walk across the iconic Adomi Bridge. Friday, the 22nd of March, will be unfolded with visits to the storied Cape Coast and the verdant splendor of Kakum National Park. Finally, Saturday will see a serene interlude amidst the enchanting beauty of the Aburi Botanical Gardens before their return to Sunyani.
Hon. Ignatius Baffour Awuah, Minister in charge of Employment, Labour Relations, and Pensions, shared his profound belief in the transformative power of education. "Education," he asserted, "serves as the great equalizer, bridging divides between the affluent and the underprivileged, and between rural and urban communities. I spare no effort in investing in education."
He emphasized the trip's objective of broadening perspectives beyond immediate surroundings. "In life, environmental exposure molds understanding and aspirations, motivating individuals to strive for success," he noted, highlighting the intrinsic motivation gained from such experiences.
Mr. Baffour Awuah further encouraged learners to embrace encounters with diverse individuals, urging them to shed any sense of inferiority. "Irrespective of background, the sights and interactions on this journey offer pathways to success," he declared.
