The member of parliament (MP) for Berekum East constituency Hon Dr Kwabena Twum Nuama yesterday 18th December 2019 made a cash donation of Fifteen thousand Ghana cedis (15,000gh) to The Holy Family Hospital of Berekum in the Bono region.
This donation came as a result of huge debt the hospital owes the Volta River Authority (VRA/NEDCO) that nearly cause them to get disconnected from the national grid. The hospital seems to be having issues with finances due to undue delays in the payment of the claim to the National Health Insurance Scheme. Upon hearing the news, the Member of Parliament ran to their aid to provide the financial support to aid the hospital make part payment. He has also asked the management to request a payment plan from VRA.
The donation was made on behalf of the MP by the Berekum East Constituency NPP chairman, Mr Kwaku Kamkam.
Speaking to the media, the party chairman said Holy family Hospital is serving many people within Bono and beyond and it will be sad to hear a disconnection from the National Grid.
He disclosed that Dr Kwabena Twum Nuama will continue to support the for to provide their good services to all the patients who come to the Holy family Hospital for health care delivery.
On behalf of the Hospital, Rev. Sr. Judith Magbity, Nursing Administrator received the donation and thanked them for the kind gesture and said, it will help the hospital to offset part of their debt to the VRA and asked for more.
