Brief Profile Of The Newly Nominated Municipal Chief Executive Of Berekum

The once Golden city has seen an unprecedented decline in infrastructural and social development. This has been widely attributed to the unavailability of a substantive chief and arguably, a non visionary Municipal Chief Executive (MCE).

The people of Berekum have been very keen in knowing who the next MCE would be, his background and vision for the community and indeed his competence to effect the change and the development everyone is looking for.

About a week before the confirmation of Nana Daasebre Amankona Diawuo II as the substantive paramount chief of Berekum, news had broken out that the President; H.E John Dramani Mahama has nominated Mr. Opoku Yiadom-Boakye to be the Municipal chief executive of Berekum. He is yet to be confirmed by the assembly.

Mr. Opoku Yiadom-Boakye aka Agidas was born on October 10 1965. He had his O levels at the Berekum Secondary School and Dormaa Secondary School. He received his A levels at the Tema Secondary School in the 80s.

He has a diploma in education, Bsc in Botany and MPhil in Botany all from the University of Cape Coast.

He has attended several professional development trainings and workshops such as

His work experience has been mostly teaching, which include;

He describes himself as a result-oriented person, well-organized with efficient abilities to work hard to meet targets, equipped with excellent communication skills, very smart, approachable and flexible with adoptable outlooks; Quick learner, ready to adjust to any new environment and make a positive impact on others.

 He is encouraging all stakeholders of Berekum to be united to help build a beautiful, pleasant Berekum to live.
