The Berekum Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon Lord Oppong Stephen and Member of Parliament (MP) for Berekum, Kwaku Agyenim Boateng, had interactions on Agoro FM Morning show hosted by De-Graft Bronzy on Saturday May 8, 2010. They responded to speculations of non conviviality between them. They emphasized that they were very affable and even wished each other the best in his duties and God blessing.
The speculations arose as a result of a misunderstanding comprising some street bulbs which ware collected by the MP on behalf of Berekum when the MCE was not in office. The MCE requested for the bulbs later, and realized that they had been received. This generated some sought of misapprehension which implied, the bulbs were missing. This created an impression of non cordiality between the two political leaders of the municipality within the general public. The issue had since been resolved.
Both praised each other on his part in the betterment of the municipality.
The public praised Agoro FM and Bronzy, the host for such an initiative to clear the air.
