There was a brouhaha following the polls for the confirmation of the first DCE nominee, Mr. Martin Obeng Adjei. He was rejected by the members of the Berekum West District Assembly. The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo then nominated Mr. Isaac Osei in a letter dated 31st August 2018 and signed by the honourable Minister of Local Government, Madam Hajia Alima Mahama.
The Brong Ahafo Regional Minister was directed to liaise with the Electoral Commission to organize the confirmation voting of the nominee by the Assembly members of the Assembly which was scheduled today, Friday, September 7, 2018.
The election took place early hours of today and the Assembly members gave Mr. Isaac Osei an overwhelming support in a 100% confirmation poll.
Mr. Isaac Osei is the immediate past Secretary of NPP, Berekum West Constituency.
In a short address, Mr.Osei thanked all the Assembly members and promised to work in unity to give the new District the status it deserves.
