There are a lot of great names and achievers from Berekum but Nananom chose one of the icons whose Achievements was recognised this year globally to be honoured this year at the Berekum Kwafie festival held on Friday, November 19 2021 at the Berekum Paramountcy Palace.
The award was put together by Nananom and Team Brand Berekum, a team of people led by Mrs Adwoa Henneh, who are working to portray the good deeds of Berekum to the world.
The purpose of the award was to honour Prof Obeng Ofori as a distinguished role model and a dedicated citizen of Berekum, Ghana, Africa and the world.
He's one of the best entomologists in Africa, who has been recognized by The WORLD SCIENTISTS AND UNIVERSITY RANKINGS 2021 as one of the top 50 scientists in Ghana.
His research work has ensuing positive ramifications which have already solved some of the world's problems and will continue to do so in the future.
He's become a strong pillar of special inspiration to aspiring academicians in his community.
He has had an enormous influence on the youth and the people of Berekum.
Prof Obeng is currently the local chairman and global finance officer of Berekumman citizens Association and the Vice-Chancellor of Catholic University College of Ghana.
He had his primary education in Koraso.
He's done several community duties to help the people of Berekum.
Prof was humbled for the honour done him by Nananom of Berekum Traditional area, led by Daasebre Dr Amankona Diawuo II and Team Brand Berekum.
He pledged his commitment to continue to do his quota for the development of Berekum
