Studgard and Ampaabeng to Lead NDC’s Parliamentary Bid for Berekum West and East Respectively

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) had its parliamentary primaries on Saturday, 24th August 2019 to elect aspirants to lead the party for 2020 general elections.

The primaries were peacefully held in both Berekum East and West. At Berekum East constituency, Hon Simon Ampabeng Kyeremeh was declared to lead the party by popular acclamation since he went unopposed.

Speaking to pressmen, Hon Simon Ampabeng Kyeremeh said, Berekum’s development is the party's agenda, and thus vowed to restore the previous NDC developmental policies that lifted the image of Berekum in the Bono region of Ghana. He also thanked the party executives for giving him the nod to lead the party in Berekum East constituency in 2020. He also called for unity in the party to help them take Berekum East seat from the NPP.

 

SimonConsequently, Berekum West also chose Hon Dickson Kyere-Duah (Kwabena Kyere Studgard) over Hon Daniel Owusu Brempong. He won the poll with 275 votes as against 176 for his opponent.

Speaking to the delegate, Hon Dickson Kyere Duah expressed his gratitude to all the delegates including the chairman of NDC for Berekum West, Hon James Ntim and his executives. He also expressed his appreciation to the Regional and National Executives of the NDC who made his dream achievable and the police for helping maintain peace.

He emphasized that the win is for Berekum West NDC and pleaded to all start campaigning so that their target to win Berekum West can be materialized. He also calls for unity in the party.

Hon Daniel Owusu Brempong thanked the delegates and pledged his support to help win the Berekum West seat.

The Chairman of Berekum West Constituency Hon James Ntim congratulated Hon Dickson Kyere Duah and assured that all the party executive will help him win the battle, come 2020, from NPP.
