Brief history
It started as a sub- office under Sunyani District Office. It became a full district office in January 2003. Its area of jurisdiction comprises Berekum, Dormaa-Ahenkro and Jaman- both north and south districts with Berekum as the headquarters. Dormaa and Sampa are its sub-offices.
