Sunyani Queen Mother Passes On, One Week Observation to be Held On October 18

The demise of the Queen-mother of Sunyani Traditional Area, Nana Yaa Nyamaa Puduo II was officially announced by the Sunyani Traditional Council on Friday 13th September 2019 at the old palace in Sunyani.

The sad announcement was made to the paramount chief of Sunyani Traditional Area, who is the President of the Sunyani Traditional Council, Nana Bosomah Asor Nkrawie II and his sub-chiefs, by the Sumankwaahene, Nana Kwaku Apraku, who is the fetish priest of Atronie Apomasu shrine.

Nana Yaa Nyamaa Puduo II, the late Queen mother of Sunyani Traditional Area died at the Regional Hospital in Sunyani on the 1st August 2019.

Nana Yaa Nyamaa Puduo II who is a member of the Boahenkorkor Royal family in Sunyani was known in private life as Helena Akosua Yeboah. She was born on the 24th of April 1955 at Sunyani and enstooled as the Queen-mother at age 18.

She attended Nyamaah School in Sunyani. She left behind Four (4) children, two boys and two girls. She reigned for 46 years.

The Dwantoahemaa of Sunyani Traditional Area, who is now the acting Queen-mother, Nana Aboa Boahemaa, described the late queen-mother as brave, a unifier, a mother and a peacemaker.

Her One Week Observation is scheduled for Friday, 18th October 2019 at the forecourt of the new palace from 6 am to 6 pm.
