The New Ghana Premier League Matchday 2, saw several clubs playing today including Berekum Chelsea at the Golden City Park in Berekum. The Blues welcomed Liberty Professionals Football Club from Dansoman, Accra.
The Golden City park saw a great turn-out with fans coming all out to support their own after a long wait for the season commencement.
Berekum Chelsea after their victory over Accra Hearts of Oak on Matchday 1 came into today's game with lifted morale. And indeed with the home support, they put up a great performance. But Liberty Professionals gave them a run for their money.
The Blues created several chances with Jona Attuquaye putting up a splendid performance, but couldn't carry the day, thanks to Fatao Alhassani Dida, the goalkeeper of Liberty professionals ( man of the match) who was superb with amazing saves including a 37th-minute penalty into the second half, taken by Kofi Owusu.
The fans went home disappointed with the 0-0 scoreline, but the Blues have managed to keep a clean sheet and are geared to putting up an impressive performance as they look forward to their next game against top-form Kumasi Asante Kotoko in their Matchday 3 fixture next week.
