Today, on March 11th, 2024, Honorable Elder Simon Ampabeng Kyeremeh, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for the Berekum East constituency, presented 75 dual desks to the education directorate.
These desks are intended for distribution among selected schools in the Berekum East constituency of the Bono region.
Honorable Elder Simon Ampabeng Kyeremeh, speaking to the media, highlighted that he had received numerous requests from various schools in the Berekum East municipal area regarding shortages of chairs. He emphasized the importance of education in national development and stressed the need for investment in the future education of children. He expressed regret over witnessing students sitting on bare floors to learn at Kotaa Public School.
Assuring ongoing support to the education directorate, regardless of his political status, Honorable Elder Simon Ampabeng Kyeremeh handed over the desks with great enthusiasm.
Previously, on January 29th, 2024, he had also donated 25 desktop computers to the same education directorate to enhance ICT learning in various schools. Additionally, on December 13th, 2023, he undertook road upgrades in Sofo Kyere, Kyiribaa, and Nyame Tease to improve accessibility, addressing challenges in road infrastructure development in Berekum.
Mrs. Beatrice Mamily Inkum, the municipal director of education, expressed gratitude to Honorable Elder Simon Ampabeng Kyeremeh for his consistent support towards the Berekum East municipal education directorate. She also appealed for further donations, citing the need for more computers, dual desks, and electricity in some schools to facilitate easier ICT learning.
