The organizers sent a letter notifying the police to the police, and they responded with an approved permit dated May 26, 2018. On the 29 of May, the organizers received the permit. On May 30, the organizers visited the regional Minister who asked them to proceed with the demonstration. At the same the day, the police issued a letter revoking the permit by citing a visit of the Vice President of Ghana, Dr. Bawumia to the region around the period of the demonstration. However, the association was determined on proceeding on the demonstration with or without the police permission, with reference to the public order act 1994 act 491.
On Monday, June 4, the police goes to the Berekum magistrate court to seek an injunction on the demonstration citing potential peace breaches that may arise from the demonstration.
