The Berekum West District Chief Executive, Hon Isaac Osei of the Bono region yesterday 29th January 2020 presented one thousand (1000) public school Uniforms to the Berekum West District Education Directorate to be shared among thirty-nine (39) public schools in the district for free.
According to Hon Isaac Osei, it's part of one government’s initiative to help boost the pupils' morale to attend school frequently. The uniforms which are for both sexes may not be enough for all school children in the district, but more will be coming to supplement the one thousand, he acknowledged.
The DCE encourage the pupils to take their academic work very seriously to become productive and prominent people for their communities.
The Director of Education of Berekum West, Ms Gloria Aggrey Kelson thanked the President and the DCE for their kind support. She said the president is doing very well in delivering most of his promises in the educational sector which will go a long way in improving the sector. She emphasized how some pupils become truant due to lack of uniforms and thus acknowledged that the intervention will help boost the morale of most the pupils to reduce truancy
She also advised parents to take great care of the new school uniforms by cautioning them not to use detergents in washing the uniforms to prevent early fading.
