Preparation Works for the Construction of a Recreational Centre in Berekum Sponsored by Berekum Citizens-UK Begins

recreational centerRelaxation in Berekum is limited to hotels, food joints and beer bars or pubs. There is no recreational centre where people can go and relax and enjoy a serene ambience and also engage in fitness and wellness activities. Children’s development is largely based on their ability to play, exercise and engage in mentally-challenging activities such as board and analytical games. However, such environments are not readily accessible to children in Berekum since there are no recreational centres.

It is on this premise that the Berekum citizens in the UK have decided to provide such facilities in Berekum.

The citizens in collaboration with the St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church in Berekum and the Paramount Chief of Berekum, Daasebre Dr Nana Amankona Diawuo II are working together to provide such a beautiful edifice in the Golden city purposely for recreation.

The Catholic Church has offered about 6 acres of land for the facility which is located on the right side of the Berekum-Senase stretch and close to the church whiles the association will be providing funding and logistics for the implementation of the project.

planrecreationPreparation works have begun on site. The grounds have been graded and moulding of blocks have begun. The land will be walled, then the construction of the facility will begin subsequently.

Furthermore, per the design, the centre will have a swimming pool, a park with children’s playground, a tennis court, a football field, a library with e-learning facilities and a relaxation lounge, Mr Kwame Damoah who is the Board Chair of the Project Committee, hinted. The Project is expected to be completed in three years.

The Berekum Citizens-UK however, is calling on anybody or institution who would like to support the project to contact Mr Kwame Damoah via email: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or Whatsapp: +44 7841 717244
