While others were having fun during Val’s day, Shalom Radio, Shalom TV and Universal club of Berekum decided to have a different twist. A collaborative effort by these organizations saw pot holes at Scotch junction, which is the branch from the main Sunyani –Berekum highway to the Omanhene’s street, being covered by concrete.
According to them the authorities had made a blind eye to this situation and they had to take action before precious lives are lost. Their way of showing love to the community as understood.
The junction has since been blocked to allow the concrete to dry up properly. This is most likely to take a minimum of 10 days and 21 days maximum, according to Mr. Tawia- president of the Universal club.
According to the president of the club, they intend to clean gutters with the help of the fire services.
Plans are underway to plant flowers on the in the middle of the high streets to help beautify the community, according to the administrator of Shalom.
