NPP held its parliamentary primary elections across the country today, 20th June 2020. The elections were keenly contested in Berekum East, where 3 candidates contested the incumbent, Dr Kwabena Twum Nuama.
The elections were held concurrently at 27 centres which commenced at 7 am to 1 pm. Five hundred and thirty (530) delegates cast their votes. After the contest the incumbent, Dr Kwabena Twum Nuama got 232 votes, Paul Ofori Amanfo got 2 votes, Solomon Kyere-Boadu got 10 votes and Nelson Kyeremeh won with 286 votes.
The elections were held without any violence or confusion though Berekum East had been earmarked as a hot-spot.
