Berekum East MP, Hon. Dr Nuama Loses Primary Elections To Nelson

nelsonNPP held its parliamentary primary elections across the country today, 20th June 2020. The elections were keenly contested in Berekum East, where 3 candidates contested the incumbent, Dr Kwabena Twum Nuama.

The elections were held concurrently at 27 centres which commenced at 7 am to 1 pm. Five hundred and thirty (530) delegates cast their votes. After the contest the incumbent, Dr Kwabena Twum Nuama got 232 votes, Paul Ofori Amanfo got 2 votes, Solomon Kyere-Boadu got 10 votes and Nelson Kyeremeh won with 286 votes.

 

The elections were held without any violence or confusion though Berekum East had been earmarked as a hot-spot.
