The settlers and inhabitants of Berekum Koraso of Berekum West District of the Bono region are appealing to Berekuman Citizens Association, NGOs, Political leaders, Opinion leaders and philanthropists to help complete a police station at Koraso which started five years ago by “Yesu Ka Wo Ho fun club”.
Since the project commenced, Berekum West MP Hon. Kwaku Agyenim Boateng, Legend Derick Obeng Mensa CEO of Legend Real Estate and Golden City group of companies, Hon Dickson Kyere Duah (Stugard) etc. have all supported or contributed in various ways.
The purpose of the police post is to help curb crime, drug addiction and other social vices, but due to financial constraints, it has not been completed.
Speaking to the Chairman of the fun club and also Assemblyman for Mansesa electoral area, Hon Edmund Kofi Yeboah said, they need the following items to complete the post; six windows, eight doors, fifty pieces of plywood, electrical cables ,fifty bags of cement, four ceiling fans , paint ,water closet , office tables and chairs.
Hon Edmund Kofi Yeboah said the police post will have two cells for males and females on detention, CID office, station officer’s office and reception.
According to him due to the lack of a police post thieves broke into the Methodist Church and took away all their instruments and broke into some of the schools at Koraso to steal their computers.
He’s therefore appealling to Berekuman Citizens Association, Political leaders and other philanthropists to come to their aid in completion of the project.
