The Omanhene of Berekum Traditional Area, Nana Dr Amankona Diawuo II and the people of Berekum traditional area from yesterday Wednesday, August 1 to Sunday August 5, 2018 will perform various activities to say a final goodbye to the late queen of Berekum.
The queen passed on last year 2017. The 40-day observation was held on March 24, 2018.
As part of preparations toward the finals rites, the people of Berekum undertook a massive cleanup exercise, making sure all principal streets, the funeral grounds all other places are clean.
Various youth groups including the Berekumman citizens association were in their numbers to support the exercise.
The municipal chief executive of Berekum, Hon Kofi Adjei thanked Berekumman for the selflessness and enthusiasm they showed in performing the exercise.
The chief of Berekum, Nana Dr. Daasebre Amankona Diawuo II, showed his profound appreciation to his people, Berekumman for the support they have exhibited after the demise of his sister and queen, Nana Akua Ameyaahene II

Day 1, Wednesday 1 August 2018
10:00am to 5:00pm: Gathering of Nananom at the Palace.
Firing of Musketry performance of customary rites and other activities and vigil throughout the night.
Day 2, Thursday 2 August. 2018
9:00am: Royal family led by Koraso Hene from Nana Asafo Adjei's House enroot to the palace. Burial service start led by Catholic Priest. Widower,
File pass the body, Nananom,
Queen mothers file pass the body.
Omanhene and family file pass the body.
Gathering of Nananom, Family members, Natives of Berekum, invited Gust and sympathizers.
5:00pm: End of activities
Day 3, Friday 3 August 2018
9:00am: Gathering of Nananom at the Omanhene's Park
10:00am: Daasebre will ride in Palanquin, followed by Asante Asokorehene and Koforidua Asokorehene through the main Street to the funeral grounds
2:00pm. File pass the body open to the public.
5:00pm: End of Activities.
Day 4, Saturday 4 August 2018
10:00am Nananom sit at the Funeral Grounds
11:00am Daasebre rides in Palanquin from Palace to funeral grounds.
12:00pm, Asokore Mamponghene ride in Palanquin through the principal streets to the funeral grounds.
3:00pm. Nananom sit to receive President of Regional House of Chiefs, Traditional Council Presidents and Former Presidents, Ministers of State, Political Party Executives, dignitaries, invited guests and sympathizers.
