Berekum West District Assembly Finally Elects A Presiding Member after 8 Months

westpmBerekum West District Assembly has failed several times since January this year, 2020 to elect a presiding member to preside over their meetings.

The assembly members numbered thirty (30) finally agree to endorse unopposed candidate Nana Anthony Addai Kwang who is also Akwamuhene of Berekum Fetentaa in the Bono region after the members rejected previous candidates.

Nana Anthony Addai Kwang appealed to all the assembly members to support his endorsement to help lead the crusade to develop Berekum West District.

The Electoral Commission of Berekum West, Mr Abraham Adu Kwasi on Wednesday 9th September 2020, supervised the YES and NO votes of the members present of which 27 voted YES to endorse the new presiding member with only one voting NO.

Nana Anthony Addai Kwang thanked all the assembly members for the endorsement and promised to work hand in hand with all the assembly members to bring peace and development in the district.

He was finally sworn-in by Berekum Magistrate court judge, His Lordship Simon Gagah (in Suit) to assume his duty.
