The Assembly Man of Kyiritwede/Abontoma and the Presiding Member on Wednesday presented 'Veronica Buckets', Tissue, Liquid soap and other items to the Berekum Central Market.
He made this donation in the wake of the COVID-19 scare as we are all being encouraged to keep social distances and wash our hands under running water.
The President of Ghana has banned most social gathering including schools, churches, and mosques, but markets are still in operation. He, however, encouraged various markets and other vending points to keep to strict hygienic practices.
The markets are a few of The areas which are highly prone to increase the transmission rate due to the exchange of money and hand touching of foodstuff.
It's with these reasons the honorable member has decided to provide these handwashing kits at all entrances of the central markets, which is also located in his electoral area, to mitigate the possible spread of the infection.
He's, however, calling people to donate more of such items to help prevent any possible transmission of the virus via touch.
He can be contacted via +233208355035 if you intend to donate.
