Berekumman citizens association on Friday, 17, 2018 handed over two boreholes to two communities Adukrom and Antradua, which are farming communities in Senase, a suburb of Berekum. The Senasehene who also doubles as the Krontihene showed profound appreciation to the citizen's association for the kind gesture extended out to his communities.
There has been a long standing conflict among the king makers and the paramount chief of Berekum, Nana Daasebre Amankona Diawuo II, which to a large extent has contributed to the retarded development of Berekum.
Nana Ofori-Appiah, the Krontihene in a short speech after taking delivery of the boreholes applauded the leadership of the Berekumman citizens association for the initiative and encouraged all citizenry to unite and push forward the development agenda of Berekum, as being done by the association.
The elders and the leadership of Berekum have been criticized for not uniting to help bring development in Berekum, thus the call by the Krontihene is one that brings joy to many citizens with the hope that the long-standing dispute will end.
