In October last year, 2019, a suit was filed on behalf of the Berekum Municipal assembly against the Omanhene of Berekum Daasbre Dr Amankona Diawuo and some leading members of Berekumman citizens association on the demolishing of the Berekum lorry station toilet facility to pave way for a proposed Ultra Modern toilet by the association.
The case was first heard in November but was adjourned to 29th January 2020 for the next hearing at the Sunyani High Court.
However, in consultation with the Bono regional Minister Hon Evylen Ama Kumi Richardson, the case has been withdrawn to be settled out of court and give a response to the courts by the 3rd of March 2020.
The Berekum East Municipal Chief (MCE) Hon Kofi Adjei has assured that the parties will work together to reach a desirable outcome for the progress of Berekum.
