Dormaa West District Assembly Receives Farm Machinery to Boost Agriculture Productivity

The District Chief Executive for Dormaa West, District, Hon Mary Yaa Ameyaa has received two tractors and ten power tiller machines and its accessories to help boost farm productivity in her district.

According to the DCE, Dormaa West is known for the cultivation of annual, perennial and biannual cereal crops and these machines will help ease the burden of the farmers in the district.

The DCE expressed her profound gratitude to H. E. Nana Addo Dankwaa Akuffo for his support in reshaping of roads, drilling and mechanization of boreholes, the construction of CHPS compounds, public school blocks, modern public toilets, assembly staff bungalows, a District Police Headquarters and others, since her assumption of office.

the Honorable DCE handed over the farm machinery to the District Agric Department at Nkrankwanta at the forecourt of the newly built District Police Headquarters and Station on the 13th November 2019.

Speaking to Berekumcity.Com, the Director of Agric for Dormaa West, Mr Emmanuel A. Bampoe said these machines will help the farmers in their day to day activities such as ploughing, harrowing, planting, maize shield etc. He said farmers will be required to pay a little token for the use of the equipment to carry out routine maintenance to always keep them in shape. He believes that farm production will increase in coming days due to the boost. He assured all farmers within Dormaa West will have access to the machines without discrimination.

The chief of Nkrankwanta, Nana Baffour Adjei Ekyea Kombi II expressed his gratitude for the delivery of the machinery and the improvement of farming activities in the district over these few years. He appealed to the Agric Director to manage and maintain the machinery to achieve the purpose it’s set out.

Dignitaries present were members of the traditional council, National Commission For Civic Education Officials, Electoral Commission Officials, Education Director, NPP Party Executives, NDC Party Executives, Security Personnel, farmers and other groups of people.
