Berekum Amankokwaa CHPS compound located in the Berekum West District of the Bono Region is the only health facility providing healthcare delivery services to the people of Amankokwaa, Adom and Jamdede.
Investigations conducted by "Berekumcity.com" has revealed that the CHPS compound lacks some essential equipment which is hindering proper healthcare delivery. There are also no beds to admit patients who need critical attention and monitoring.
In an interaction with the Staff of the facility, the following were outlined as items needed to help them function properly;

40 Plastic Chairs,
1 Fridge,
1 Shelf for folders,
2 Cupboards,
Storeroom Shelves,
Beds,
Shelves for Medicine,
Screen,
Curtains,
Bedsheets,
Macintosh,
Towels,
3 Veronica Buckets plus stands,
Gallipots,
Kidney Dish,
Forceps,
Trays,
Dustbins,
Brooms,
Basins,
Bulbs,
Plywood,
Standpipe,
Barrels
Hand Sanitizers.
Speaking to some members of the community, they expressed their frustrations to the fact, the CHPS couldn’t function at its full strength due to the lack of items and equipment. They, however, applauded the health workers for their humility and patience in handling patients who came to them for healthcare.
When Berekumcity.com contacted the Berekum West Health Directorate, the director, Ms Agnes Asiedu said some challenges were facing the facility due to the unavailability of equipment and appealed to donors to come to their aid either in cash or provision of equipment. She also thanked people who have donated either money or equipment to the facility. She ended by saying, providing the people with high-quality healthcare delivery is their priority.
