Construction of Berekum- Seikwa Raod to Commence Soon

“Construction of the Berekum-Seikwa road will commence soon”. This was made know to the media by the MCE of Berekum Hon. Lord Oppong Stephen when two officials, Mr. Baffour Awuah- Location Manger and Mr. Paul Duah- Designing Manger from the Ghana Highway Authority Headquarters (GHA) paid him a visit in June last year, 2010.

They had a tour with pressmen around some of the roads yet to be constructed such as the Zongo One-way. This road is to be constructed to join the Seikwa Road.

Surveyors were on the Seikwa road working. They assured the team from the GHA that their work would be completed in two months time. The design works would also be completed a month after the Survey so that the contract would be awarded for the construction.

A replacement of the traffic lights by a roundabout was also considered. But all these projects have not yet been commenced.

The MCE of Berekum Hon. Lord Oppong Stephen told Shalom Radio on Thursday, that a sod would be cut on the 12th of March, 2011 to finally commence the projects. He was speaking to the host of Shalom Radio Super Morning Show, Kooda.

We hope the project would be done to reduce dust on the road and make it readily accessible.
