The Bekumhene of Berekum traditional area and the chief of Nsapor, Nana Kyereh Yeboah Darteh II, in the Berekum West District in the Bono region is calling for support to complete key developmental projects in his community.
The chief and his community have initiated and completed some projects such as the renovation of a six classrooms block for M/A primary school at Nsapor. Through his intervention, the school now have a mechanized borehole donated by a philanthropist.
In an interview with Berekumcity.com, Nana pointed out that the community lacks basic health amenities which is taking a negative tone on the lives of his people.
The community had since October 2013, converted and renovated an old gari factory office at Nsarpor to a Community Health Planning and Services (CHPS) Compound. However, the challenge is that it lacks basic logistics and staff to make it operational. He confessed that though the Berekum Health directorate had assigned two staff nurses to the clinic, they had to abandon the place because it lacked basic amenities to make it operational.
Nana is thus appealing to the general public and well-wishers of Nsapor to come to their aid to provide the necessary health amenities to make the compound operational.
In an inspection by Berekumcity.Com’s reporter, the facility contains two rooms, a water closest toilet and bath, kitchen, a big living room area, ward, basins with portable water and electricity.
If the facility becomes operational, it will provide health basic health care to the people of NSAPOR, Nanasuano, the magazine area and other nearby communities.
Nana Kyereh Yeboah Darteh II is hoping to get the necessary support from the Berekum West assembly, individuals, philanthropic companies, NGOs to come to their aid to make the facility operation in the shortest possible time to curb the health challenges in Nsapor and its environs.
