Mr Nelson Kyeremeh Donates Mathematical Set and Pens To 1400 BECE Candidates

nelsonMathssetThe NPP parliamentary candidate for Berekum East Constituency, Mr Nelson Kyeremeh has donated mathematical sets and pens to 1,456 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates of public schools in the Berekum East.

During the presentation, MrNelson Kyeremeh said, his hope is for all the candidates to pass the exams to enjoy the free Senior High School policy.

In receiving the donated items, the Municipal Education Director, Madam Grace Ivy Ameyaw thanked Mr, Nelson Kyeremeh for his kind donations. She, however, urged him to extend the gesture to private schools in the municipality.

She took the opportunity to advise parents to instil discipline in their children especially during this time that they are writing their exams.

The Municipal Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Education Service, Mr Joseph Yeboah, disclosed that a total number of 2,269 Junior High School, JHS candidates are expected to take part in the 2020 BECE in the Berekum East Municipal of the Bono Region. The number represents 1,089 males and 1,180 females registered to sit for the exams in nine (9) examination centres nine different centres that are, Berekum Senior High A, B, C, D, Presby Senior High school A, B, C, All for Christ Senior High School, Voice of Deliverance centres.

Mr Joseph Yeboah, further disclosed that 1,456 represents candidates from public schools whilst the remaining 813 represents candidates from the various private schools in the Municipality. He further pointed out that officials engaged by WAEC to supervise the exams include 85 invigilators, nine (9) supervisors and another nine (9) assistant supervisors.

He added that arrangements have been made to ensure candidates, invigilators, supervisors and all stakeholders abide by the COVID-19 safety protocols as the government has provided nose masks and sanitizers for all.
